Imbued with the desire to participate in the control and prevention of prohibited drugs not only in the locality but nationwide, the College of health Sciences ( CHS ) of Laguna University spearheaded activities on November 17, 2016 in observance of the Drug Control and Prevention Week. Simultaneous with this was also the commemoration of the World Diabetes Month.
As early as, 8:00 am, invited drum beaters led a colorful noise barrage around the university campus. Selected students of CHS impersonating the popular anti- drug campaign personalities in the country linked with the big issue on drug lords, led the parade holding meaningful placards and posters reminding students on the ill effects of illegal drugs. The parade extended up to the classrooms and offices in the whole university. This, in a way attracted students’ attention and precisely it made them realize the bad effects of illegal drugs.
Officials and faculty members of the university expressed their gratitude to the College of Health Sciences, headed by Prof. Monette O. Bato, dean of CHS, for the kind gesture of providing health care services to the community.
In line with the activity on the prevention and control of illegal drugs, messages and reminders on the prevention of diabetes were also provided to make everyone aware of the dreadful effects of diabetes.
